A few days after “Holes” closed, Christy began work on one of the funniest shows ever written, “Bat Boy: The Musical!”. She played Shelley Parker, a rambunctious teen from Hope Falls, West Virginia, who falls in love with a half-man, half-bat. The small town folk have no idea what to do with a bat boy until the Parker family turn him into a civilized young lad. Sound insane? Based on the Weekly World News creation, this funny and uplifting story played at San Francisco’s oldest theater, the Victoria, for two wonderful weeks, and was named “one of top ten theatre events of the year” by the San Francisco Guardian.
